Geetarz Comments:
To put it bluntly, this is one of the most amazing EC videos every recorded. The sound and picture quality are anything BUT amazing, given the limits of camcorders and technology at the time EC and the band are little more than animated blobs on the screen. No, what is amazing is the performance, and this is one of those things you will only believe if you see it with your own eyes. Anyone who has been a Clapton fan for any length of time knows that EC is among the least demonstrative of performers, rarely sspeaking to the crowd and typically standing in a fairly small area and playing with a minimum of flashly physical moves. So this performance comes as an amazing shock, when one witnesses EC prowl the stage back and forth, swinging about, pacing like a caged tiger. And the playing is completely top notch, not only is EC's guitar work far more animated than usual but he growls and tears through the vocals like a man posessed. Easily the finest overall performance of the 1987 tour, and definitely among the best overall gigs of EC's career. Not to be left out, the band is in top form as well. Sound and picture quality make this one difficult to enjoy with ease, but it's certainly worth the effort. NTSC format DVD authored from c. 3rd generation PAL VHS source.
