Eric Clapton - The Spectrum

Comments: An incredible pro-shot video in wide circulation. One can only hope that this makes its way onto DVD someday. Picture and sound are perfect, with of course generational loss, but the recording itself is great. The mix, in particular, is very up-front and close-miked. The release Vivela Slowhand was sourced from a version of this recording, and suffers from some problems (such as VHS tracking noise) not present in this copy. It doesn't get much better than this! Recommended.
Update - October 2004: Stop the presses, when we obtained this clear VHS copy we were ecstatic and at the time this review was originally penned wrote "one can only hope that this makes its way onto DVD someday". Well baby, "someday" is "today", toss your VHS tapes in the trash and jump on the Beano wagon!
