Geetarz Notes:
The 1996 shows were, like the 1993 shows, a bridge between the blues and more
popular music. Whereas the 1993 shows marked EC's progression toward the "all
blues" performances of 1994 and 1995, these 1996 outings were EC's transition
back into the mainstream. Fresh after a couple years away from much of his back
catalogue, EC approached these songs with a new attitude, some new arrangements,
and at the top of his game.
I don't know when this set, on the Keep On Keeping On label, was originally
released - I purchased mine in mid-1997. The label name and catalog number do
not appear on the artwork; this was sometimes done so that artwork could be
duplicated at a "straight" printing house. The CD's themselves are poorly
silk-screened, which means they were probably ordered blank (again, so as not to
raise suspicions), and then labeled in-house. Whoever did the labeling made a
mistake, as the discs themselves read "Slowhand ... Twelve Long Years" !!!
This is a new rip directly from my originals. New scans at 300DPI are provided,
as are EAC extraction logs, checksums (ffp, MD5, ST5), as well as analysis
graphs (SA, FA, CA, etc.) for the lossy posse. Scans of the silvers are also
provided.
But, just as the late night infomercial guys would say ... "WAIT! THERE'S MORE
!!!"
Here's Emperor Henri Clouseau of the Torrent Police! He's going to claim that this
torrent is stolen from another tracker! Oh, quelle horreur!
But the joke's on Henri and we won't get kicked today, because in a first-ever,
we have a classic "hostage style" photo of the original CD set with today's
newspaper! (click the photo to enlarge):
Is this good enough? Well of course not! Because now Henrizilla will complain
"you have photoshopped the newspaper, this is a lie, you stole this torrent from
another tracker even if you are kicked!".
So, in a non-photoshoppable (is that a word? guess it is now!) moment, here's
actual video of the discs being inserted, along with today's paper (which was
sacrificed to make this torrent):
Now the secret's out! Yes, it's true, Cody the Codependent Husky does much of
the torrenting prep work, so I can get back to organizing that dreaded sock
drawer. And I must tell you ... Cody has taken some of these baseless
accusations that he has taken torrents from another tracker and reseeded them
without credit VERY personally. I came home and he was reading all this stuff,
and he had on his doo-rag, his bad-ass sunglasses, and was packin', and he
looked at me and said "DAWG, I WILL BUST A CAP IN THEY AZZ IF DEY TELL DEM
LIEZ!". He's pretty upset - I wouldn't want to rile him. So let's keep it civil,
or he'll come over and take a huge dump on your lawn!
It's a good show, and a fun listen - enjoy!
