Note: An excellent audience recording, warm, rich and full,
with wide frequency range. Very listenable, near soundboard in parts, marred
only by a little near crowd noise. Great performances, too, including a hot
solo on "Going Down Slow" and excellent outro vocals by EC, very impassioned.
He leaps right into "She's Gone" with no solo, as there would be later in the
tour. This early performance of "Gone" is excellent and quite different from
later arrangements of the song, particularly the song intro and tempo. "Circus"
is especially nice as well. This excellent recording is only marred by two small
digital glitches, both in "Crossroads", one at the very beginning and one about
1:00 into the song, which are in the master recording to the best of my
knowledge. The best quality recording, and one of the finest performances, of
the early leg of the 1998 Pilgrim tour. Recommended.
