Comments: One of the shows recorded for "EC Was Here" live album. EC begins the show with "if you are sitting comfortably, we will begin". EC dedicates 'Layla' to a "Nellie". Disc 2 begins with the version of "Driftin'" featured on "EC Was Here" - not featured on the official release is EC's quip just as the song ends "Sorry about the tuning and all that ... can't be perfect, can you?" The band begins "Crossroads" a bit disjointed, as if no one can figure out what arrangement they are supposed to use, but really tightens up about halfway through, getting in a nice jam at the end. EC gives up on the lyrics to "Little Queenie" after two verses, saying simply "My Brain Hurts!" and begins soloing, only singing the chorus from then on. Further EC quips in "Little Queenie": "She's mine in the dressing room after the show ... what a way to lose your virginity!". With "Blues Power" EC teases the crowd with the intro to "Badge" and the riff to the Beatles' "Day Tripper". "Smile" from "Timepieces Vol. 2" was taken from this show and "Can't Find My Way Home", "Driftin' and Driftin'" and "Presence of the Lord" from "EC Was Here" were taken from this show. Two tracks from the 4 piece 1990 Royal Albert Hall run round out the second disc as filler - why? They don't fit at all. A fun show - recommended.
