Comments: Whatever your thoughts on some of the more bizarre antics of the Artist formerly known as the Purple One, there's no doubt that he is one of the most groundbreaking and influential musical stylists of the 20th century. And to some degree, his writing and performance skills, as well as personal life, tend to overshadow the fact that he's also a damn find guitar player - which is, after all, what we here at the Geetarz site tend to focus on. C'mon, in a contest between some carefully crafted ballad and some crankin' riffs, the riffs win every time!
