Does anyone have any suggestions as to what appropriate songs he could play given the nature of the benefit? I'm looking forward to hearing the "good rockin' tonight" CD due out in a couple of weeks. According to rolling stone, EC's contribution is a ballad. BB King is releasing a Christmas album due this November, as well. 'bye for now, John ------=_NextPart_000_2735_01C17DC2.694A29C0 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit From: Noah Seidenberg Cc: "'hillman@planet-torque.com'" Subject: Thanks to David Hillman Content-Type: text/plain There has been much discussion regarding the formatting of digest messages and the problem with AOL users, which is me included. I use AOL for my personal ISP and Email, have had this for close to 10 years. The problems are no ones fault, they are just circumstances. I want to thank David Hillman for all the work he puts in. I have not heard anyone else say this lately. We (me included) tend to only verbalize the negative things in life and skip over the positive. I want to do the opposite for a change. I have been on many newsgroups in my Internet career and by far the Slowhand digest is the very best I've ever been involved in, there are many very intelligent people on this list who have very interesting things to say. I always look forward to DeltaNick's posts for example. I have been on this digest since before EC came out with the "From The Cradle" CD. I remember when I first joined the digest the talk was about when EC would tour again, it had been a few years. The first discussion was regarding how much cash it would be to get our own live Clapton performance. I remember that it was actually investigated and it was around a hundred grand. Does anyone else remember that time? David, thank you very much for providing this to me. I always felt different than most music lovers cause I am really into it, this is a place where I can hang with others like me. Keep up the good work bro! Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII With respect to the URL ( http://planet-torque.com/slowhand/latest.txt ) that I posted yesterday for accessing recent Digest messages; obviously most, if not all, people who would use that probably did not receive the message. If you know of someone having such problems, please pass the link along. Think "buddy-system". While it isn't perfect, hopefully it will help a few folks. Speaking of AOL, I tried to investigate a bit in hopes of finding a potential cause that AOL folks could complain about to their "support" staff. I was unable to, because AOL has not bounced a single message back to me since at least the end of August. If they are intentionally not delivering the messages for some reason, they ought to, at a minimum, bounce them back to the sender. The alternative is a post office simply throwing away mail is doesn't deliver. Regardless, without any information on why the messages don't get through, I'm handcuffed with respect to finding a solution. -- D a v i d H i l l m a n hillman@planet-torque.com ------=_NextPart_000_2735_01C17DC2.694A29C0 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit From: "Jesse O'Rourke" Subject: EC Magazine Collection for Sale Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Here's a shameless plug for my modest Eric Clapton magazine collection = for sale.
