If I understand right you prefer selling your Legends video to pro bootleggers rather than offering it for sale to us digest readers. You know there are Clapton fans that have the capabilities to produce high class copies you can yourself offer for sale to everybody interested. There should be no need to get any dealers involved, you can easily recoup your money from real fans! I wonder what the reactions from the digest readers will be like... I am the owner of the Legends video tape, and it is amazing stuff in amazing quality, believe me. I spent a serious amount on it, that's right, but it was worth it. I have been thinking about sharing the show with everybody else but I am not very sure about it. Let me tell you why. If I make this video available, sooner or later, some bootlegger will put his hands on it and will make money lots of money -- don't forget the fact we are talking about a fabulous PROSHOT recording not audience -- I don't want that to happen, BUT... I suppose that is something we can't avoid. I mean, sooner or later the tape will find its way to some bootlegger... So, if this is gonna happen... Why not get some money for it?? I have been trying to get in touch with people in different countries (bootleggers I suspect) trying to get money for the video tape. I got one response from Italy but I'm still waiting for responses from Japan to see if they can beat the Italian offer. I want to recover what I paid for the tape, get some bootlegs in return and also I would like to raise some extra money to donate to the Crossroads Centre -- I feel Eric should get something from this as well. If I can't get it, then I'm afraid I won't be able to tree this recording. Bootleggers won't make money with this recording, MY recording, and if they do, the money will be spent in a right way. Josh... anytime you start a message with something like.... "My thoughts on the current AOL situation..as if anyone needs to hear more thoughts on the subject, but anyway..." why not just delete the message and spare us all??????? And in response to SteveP's post on the BBKing Blues Fest... I was lucky enough to attend last weekend. The weather prevented me from catching the first few acts (Tommy Castro, Bobby Blue Bland, and Doyle II).. but I did see Double Trouble, Jimmie Vaughan (with Louann Barton), John Hiatt, Buddy Guy, and BB. My thoughts.... was great to finally see DT live... but i was disappointed with their last few numbers.. Beatles tunes. Just didn't "fit" to me. JV was good.... glad to see him again and glad that he played a few new tunes. John Hiatt.. what can I say? He stole the day!! I could have listened to him for hours!! Buddy Guy... glad I finally got to see such a legend live... great guitarist... great vocalist... great showman... but was disappointed in the predictability of his act. Especially didn't like all the "shhhhh... i'm not done yet"... or "shut up and let me finish". And really didn't like the section of his act where he did a sampling of a variety of songs. The people around me were moaning and groaning about it too... "why doesn't he just play a whole song or two and cut out all this crap!" And then BB... THE MASTER!!! Like Steve said... pretty much the same show as before... but how can you NOT get into BB playing?? Anyhow... was an enjoyable day at The Woodlands... I sure needed a good dose of live music!! cheryl ------=_NextPart_000_275D_01C17DC2.69596C00 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit From: "Rioduo" Subject: Re: Some thoughts on the King/Guy/Hiatt concert Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, Just about the same here at the Houston show. No mention of EC during the BB King set. Buddy Guy did mention that the fellow that was on just before him had written the song he was going to do next (Feel's Like Rain). All in all. a good show. Couldn't quite figure out the John Hiatt connection, I would have rather seen Chris Duarte, but he's not BIG yet. It was great to see Bobby Blue Bland. It was nice, as I said not only Clapton acoustic but with the entire band, there wasn`t a "solo" introduction this time. After that Clapton said "obrigado" ("thank you" in Portuguese), said that the previous song is the title track of the new album Reptile and that the next one, also from the new album is called "GOT YOU ON MY MIND" - at the end that was all Clapton have said the entire night. Got you on my mind was already better, more enthusiasm by the band. TEARS IN HEAVEN made its job, a pop song to make crowd happy. After that a great moment : BELL BOTTOM BLUES ! What a blues tune, it never lost its magic, really emotional ! CHANGE THE WORLD was just like Tears in Heaven, but performed more intensely, more thrilling, Clapton was really involved by that time. Then we went into the well-known Pilgrim set. MY FATHER`S EYES was introduced a bit different than usual, something like a "reggae" style; at its end, a great guitar solo as expected. RIVER OF TEARS was performed as intensely as it could get, just like the recent live versions, like for example the "Antigua" Benefit Concert". GOING DOWN SLOW was the no-working point of the night, it simply doesn`t work live in my point of view. Still, at its end Clapton continued soloing and made a nice link to SHE`S GONE, very good ! This one really outstanding, pure rock`n roll ! WANT A LITTLE GIRL was also diferent compared to the studio recording, more "bluesy" live, Clapton indeed introduced "Greg Philinganes" and then there was a truly blues piano solo, very good. After that, the Blues Night ! HOOCHIE COOCHIE MAN worked nice as always and, after that, for the ones like me that thought that the night would have only one blues song, the surprise : STORMY MONDAY !!! What a thrill ! The blues lovers like me got extremely pleased and, curiously, the crowd also showed lots of enthusiasm, outstanding guitar and piano solos, the highlight of the night ! And then people definitely stood up : COCAINE and WONDERFUL TONIGHT, this last one, although played very often, still works, nice keyboard solo. After that I asked my friend : "are you ready ?" and then he replied : "for what ?"…The LAYLA introduction riff answered my question ! People were definitely pleased then, just as good as it could get. Then Clapton said "goodbye" and we just had to wait for the encores. SUNSHINE OF YOUR LOVE was enthusiastic, and SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW started with the band introduction and went on as emotionally as possible, outside the venue there were people walking and singing all alone "Somewhere….".. What a concert !
