Considering the fact that Clapton has released very little worth listening to in the past 30 years or so, Maconie's comments, while a bit harsh, aren't necessarily too far off base. Granted one riff doesn't make a career, and his best work was probably recorded prior to that one riff, but 7 great years out of 38 (with the remaining 31 being mediocre at best) isn't something to jump up and down about. The 90 minute performance is culled from a jUne 1996 concert in London with more than 150,000 fans in attendance. Clapton enlisted Bob Dylan, the WHO, and Alanis Morrissette to make guest appearances. The DVD will contain two bonus tracks, a cover of Muddy Waters (HOOCHIE COOCHIE MAN" and "IT HURTS ME", which are on the VHS release.
