Maybe we all could pitch in and have Peter sign a cheap axe and then present it to the winner of the "Why AOL is better than free(and unencumbered)" essay contest. My own father subs to AOL and for him it is great but being an engineering type I want more control of my web. Use an ISP that does not sell browser....DUH! Thanks for the bandwidth. Cheers Ed PS. David - keep up the good work!!!!! ===== Regards Ed Petry emse_97@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Find the one for you at Yahoo! Jerome Vuibert www.clapton-online.com --=_--SlowhandDigest-- From: "Apurva Parikh" Subject: Eric's Gear on the Professor Blues review (1986) Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Been listening to a borrowed copy of the Professor Blues review shows in 1986 that Eric was involved in with Otis Rush. Listening to the "Crosscut Saw" track, and I think it's Eric playing the majority of the lead/solos with Otis playing the fills and rhythm. It sounds like Eric is playing the Gibson Les Paul, and the reason I believe this is : 1. I have seen pictures of Eric circa 1986, and I have seen him with the Les Paul guitar in hand. 2. The Tone, if its Eric , sounds very much like a Gibson guitar. Can anyone help? Greg --=_--SlowhandDigest-- From: "DeltaNick" Subject: Freedom Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit During the 20 October "The Concert For NYC," Paul McCartney introduced a song titled "Freedom," on which EC played. Actually, McCartney & Co. played the song twice. The new McCartney single, "Freedom," on which EC is credited, indicates that it was recorded at Quad Studios in NY, although it sounds as if it's really a mix of the live performance with, perhaps, some overdubs done in the studio. A version of "Freedom" also appears on McCartney's latest album, "Driving Rain." A promotional sticker on the album seems to indicate that this may be a live recording. Does anyone know if the single and the album versions of "Freedom" are one and the same, or are they different recordings?
