Well, it's on DVD as of last weekend - I authored it myself from an original
Warner Brothers promo copy (the promo contains material not included in the
PBS broadcast) lent me by a generous friend!

Unfortunately a tree won't be a real possibility until more folks have
access to DVD burners - and the way prices are dropping, hopefully that will
be soon.

In the meantime, I'm on the hunt for more masters! If anyone has a master,
or high quality, low gen, please contact me privately and perhaps we can
work something out. You send me the master, and you get it back with a DVD
of the program - plus I have more rare goodies to sweeten the deal. At this
point I'm confining transactions to those who can supply new material for
transfer - it's a very time intensive process (to do it RIGHT). Currently
I'd like to find the following:

- EC / MK Philly 1988
- the South America 1990 TV broadcasts
- Ronnie Scott's 1987 (UK TV)
- Mandela Freedomfest 1988

As well as masters of many of the various interviews and small clips over
the years - my plan is to eventually make a 3 or 4 DVD set that will contain
all the "miscellaneous" material like this stuff. So, dig in the closet,
and let me know what you've got. Again, I need either masters or perfect
copies - I have all this stuff already, but if I'm going to transfer it,
will do so from the best available.

So, let the fun begin - and you, too, can have NBtB on DVD ;)

Cheers,
Mark Deavult

World Hunger Year's "Hungerthon 2001" is getting underway. This year, WHY
will be auctioning off two guitars autographed by Eric Clapton via Yahoo
Auctions, in addition to many other celebrity-signed items. Additionally, two
more guitars autographed by EC (as well as a third signed by EC, Jack Bruce
and Ginger Baker) and numerous other items will be auctioned off as part of
the live, NYC radio auction this coming Tuesday and Wednesday. The auction
will be carried on Infinity Broadcasting Stations. WHY was founded in 1975 by
singer / songwriter Harry Chapin and Bill Ayres, a radio talk show host on
WPLJ-FM since '75 (and a co-worker of mine and it's not an Infinity Station).
Since then, WHY has raised in excess of $5 million dollars. For more
information, check out:

Thanks!

Howdy Friends,

This week we have Key to the Highway up for grabs. Recorded on 20 March,
2001 in Paris. This is certainly one of the better quality recordings I've
heard from this tour. The audience is really enjoying themselves as they
clap along. Hop over to www.msu.edu/~ritterj3 to download the zipped mp3
file. Enjoy & tell your friends :)

Email me with any requests.

Take care,
Josh Ritter

Nope.

Check out Page 97 of Eric Clapton: The New Visual Documentary by Marc
Roberty. EC is playing a Stratocaster. The picture is black & white, but
it's probably the Petrol (??) Blue as opposed to the bright red one of
the time.

Subject: Eric's Gear on the Professor Blues review (1986)

Been listening to a borrowed copy of the Professor Blues review shows in
1986 that Eric was involved in with Otis Rush.
Listening to the "Crosscut Saw" track, and I think it's Eric playing the
majority of the lead/solos with Otis playing the fills and rhythm.

It sounds like Eric is playing the Gibson Les Paul, and the reason I
believe
this is :

1. I have seen pictures of Eric circa 1986, and I have seen him with the
Les
Paul guitar in hand.
2. The Tone, if its Eric , sounds very much like a Gibson guitar.

Can anyone help?
Thanks
Apurva

EC starts the Japan tour tonight, right? I think he should be hitting the stage just around now. Here's hoping he adds Losing Hand to the set.

Given that Just One Night came out in 1980, and 24 Nights came out in 1991, I was really hoping that Warners/Reprise would have the wisdom to get a live album out for this Xmas. But no luck, right?

And what about Crossroads 3, 4, and 5? They could be:

3: Live in the 80s, including the unreleased album.

4: The best of the Warners years, + B sides and unreleased
    songs like Lady of Verona.

5: Live in the 90s.

Well, maybe we will see all of it after he retires, if he retires. Those people just don't know how to make money. Their best concept is rereleasing Riding With the King on DVD-Audio.

The only other item I'd add to DeltaNick's list is the
new dvd of EC's 1996 Hyde Park concert with the bonus
tracks, supposed to be out this week. . .

You were satisfied even you like unplugged or electric, He played both
tonight.

Japan tour was opened with acoustic "Key to the highway". Then proceed to
"Reptile" he played these two songs very aggressive. But after "Got you on
my mind"……

Acoustic set was almost same as Euro, American tour except "Layla".

He brought NEW colorful painted Stratcaster, this one is different from Euro
and US tour guitar. Then he started "My father's eyes".

Basically , I love his solo on "River of tears" and "She is gone", but I'm
not satisfied, I feel only 70% of power tonight. On the other hand his Vocal
was excellent especially in "I want little girl", his Vocal was fantastic
ever.

Slow blues of tonight was "Have you ever loved woman" there are too much
keyboards solo, Both David and Greg played piano and Hammond solo. We want
more deep guitar solo. in addition, We ant more blues songs like "Five long
years ".

Main part of show closed with another "Layla" (Electric) again, We love this
tune, but unfortunately strings tuning went wrong and he struggled with
guitar. It encore number started from "sunshine of your love" and 2hrs.
5min. show was closed with "Somewhere over the rainbow".

This setlist is almost same as 1999 Japan tour except few songs from
"Reptile". There are too much old pop songs. We (Japanese) fan want him to
play more songs from "Reptile" album, like "Travelin' Light", "Superman
inside" and especially "Don't let me be lonely tonight"and "Ain't gonna
stand for it" rather than "Badge", "Cocaine" and/or "sunshine of your love".

In conclusion, It was average show, in over all. Not so bad, but he didn't
turn on in his guitar solo tonight.

Hey SD Fans,

I recently received an email from Voodoo Videos, advertising some Clapton
bootleg videos they have for sale. As much as I hate paying for bootlegs,
they have some material that I've never heard of before, including a
supposed pro-shot video from the recent tour in Buenos Aires, Oct. 6,2001.
Says its the full concert, taped from Sky Cable channel. Anyone down there
even know if that was aired on tv? If it's pro-shot, that means soundboard,
and that means we have the first soundboard recording transferable to cdr
(!). Just wondering if anyone has dealt with them or heard any good/bad
about them in the past. If I bought it, I'd be glad to make a copy for Mr.
Devault, who can transfer to vcd or dvd, and we could get a tree going.
Lemme know...thanks.

Take care,
Josh Ritter
