For some reason I don't have a good feeling that Warner Bros / Reprise will do anything significant with EC's live or studio catalogue. This can be evidenced by the wonderful state that the recording industry is in at the present time (can anyone say Enema...er...Emenem?) Perhaps the good folks at Rhino or K-Tel will realize the assets made from their compellations of others and pick up good artists like EC and continue to listen to what fans want rather than dictate to fans what they ( the record company) want the fans to hear. Here endith the Epistle. Rev. However, after hearing "Come Back Baby", "Losing Hand" and "What Would I do Without You" I would dearly love to see Eric do an album of Ray Charles tunes (maybe even WITH Ray!). I think he does Rays tunes fabulously. Elliot --=_--SlowhandDigest-- From: Elliot Paterson Subject: Erics gear in Japan Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Hi, Thankyou Shinichiro for your reports of the tour in Japan. In the report from the first show, it's mentioned that Eric is not only using a new Strat but also a new amp combination. For most of the tour he's used his trusty Fender Twin Custom Shop plus the Marshall JCM800 head. Has he really replaced his beloved Twin with the Vibro King plus Tone Master head? Does anyone have any pictures from the shows? Cheers, Elliot --=_--SlowhandDigest-- From: "Apurva Parikh" Cc: deltanick@home.com Subject: Eric's Guitars 8/7/01 Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed I think eric switched from ES-335 to Les Paul in Wonderful Tonight. Plays it on that song, Layla and SOYL. Not sure what guitars he plays on Circles and Somewhere over the rainbow(the L5 maybe?) DeltaNick ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lucky & Alice Crumpler" To: "DeltaNick" Sent: Thursday, 22 November 2001 10:38 AM Subject: question for the man Happy Thanksgiving, DeltaNick. Here's hoping you and yours are well this fine day. I hope you won't mind a question. I tried to post it to the Digest, but couldn't get it there for some reason. The Tourography says there was a Delaney and Bonnie show in Boston at the Tea Party Club on February 9, 1970. At some point in the evening, it supposedly turned into a set featuring Peter Green, EC and Joe Walsh. A friend sent me a track which is allegedly from that show, a wonderful 15+ minute "blues jam" with a trio of intricately interwoven guitars. You can hear the announcer say "Peter Green, Eric Clapton and Joe Walsh". Can you tell me anything about this event? Do you know if there is any more of this performance available out there? Thanks for your time. BTW, when Alice and I saw Mayall in Longview, TX back in June, I told him you said "hello" and he seemed very pleased to hear from you. He was extremely nice as he signed my "Beano" album, sold us a couple of T-shirts, and posed for pictures. He was also selling his own "bootleg" of the recent European tour. I don't think he has slowed down a bit...it was a powerhouse performance. Lucky --=_--SlowhandDigest-- From: "Jack and Bonnie" Subject: Which Beatles Song ...
