I acquired this magazine this afternoon and, while I haven't read it cover
to cover, I've browsed it sufficiently to make some comments.
This is a slick, glossy special edition magazine with lots of pictures.
Several articles by Roberty and Chris Welch, all quite predictable. A lot of
territory is covered but none of it in depth. And weaknesses abound. I'll
offer one MINOR example: in the section that reviews and ranks his albums
from start to finish, they somehow seem to have managed to overlook From The
Cradle.
It's very pretty but I'm not sure that it's worth 14 bucks.

do you know how Clapton got the Leslie tones on 'Badge' (bridge part)
and later with Blind Faith. I run various guits thru a leslie 122 but
doesnt nail it. Dont know if he used the full signal to the Horn only
or Bass rotor only or normal (i use it normal / split and it doesnt
sound as 'Soupy'), mic placement , etc... The Beatles also did it that
year and recently Craig Ross w/ Natalie Merchant on Ophiela lp.

All,
I now have the 12/4 Budokan (sp?) show (thanks Donna! :)
I'll pass it on to the first 5 emails (to ddell@socal.rr.com). Only
restriction is you must be a resident of US, Canada, or Mexico....I
simply don't have time to make special trips to the post office for
other areas, plus cost gets a bit much as well.
And you also must agree to share the CDs with at least 3 other list
members.
