You don't need the money or the fame anymore, so spend these last year's of your life away from the spotlight. You can always get a gig later,in Vegas as an over the hill rock star :) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I've had it for some time now, and I just love it. (It's copyright is 1996, but I think I got it in '98. I like all the EC tracks... "Sending Me Angels", "What's This World Coming To", and "You Better Rock Me Baby"... but I also fell in love with a lot of the other tracks as well. There's even a "Running on Faith"... without EC that's great. This is one to stick in the car for long trips... I like to "work" with it on. I "Urge" you to get this one!! It must be around 1995. EC's plays lead on "Sending me angels", "What's this world coming to" and "You better rock me baby". There is also a version of "Running on faith" (without EC) on this cd. The song was written by JLW as you all might know. Other wel known musicians on this cd are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mick Fleetwood, Nicky Hopkins and John Oates. -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: Scott Wallenberg [mailto:scottw@frazmtn.com] Gesendet: Keines Cc: Allman Allman Betreff: New Jerry Williams cd with Clapton http://www.urgemusic-records.com/home.html http://www.urgemusic-records.com/peace.html Anyone out there heard this yet? Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Folks, just wanted to ask a quick question: Is Crossroads 2 pretty much the summary of all of the best of EC in 1970s (live)? _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com --=_--SlowhandDigest-- From: "Apurva Parikh" Subject: reptile vs. pilgrim tour another thought Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Just got a copy of Double Image from the Pilgrim Tour (9/11/98 Alberta Canada) and been listening to it today, along with a Reptile tour boot from Houston, and Japan. I remember Ken's post from weeks back comparing the two tours. While I don't want to point counterpoint Ken, I have some general comments. Not totally disagreeing, but basically I feel the Reptile tour setlist was stronger. Some general comments; 1. I like the Pilgrim tour for the way it opened with an electric set, then moving to acoustic set. I also like the string section at times, but I don't like the fact that Eric had two other guitarists playing on this tour. Actually though, I think he had them so he could add to the fullness of the sound and perhaps solo more. 2. I don't like the Reptile tour opening with acoustic.. Too boring for me. I think the blues set for the Reptile tour was better and the Impressions were better than the Pilgrim tour backup singers. I like the encores of the Reptile tour better. 3. As for Eric's guitar playing. I think he played more during the Pilgrim tour. More as in solos. The Reptile tour had too many Reptile songs which he coasted on. Overall, I like the Reptile tour for it's blues and encore sets and the hits. Pilgrim i like for the opening and the fire of his playing _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --=_--SlowhandDigest-- From: "Mark Deavult" Cc: "Slowhand List" Subject: Re: Budokan 01 source Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Wallenberg" Sent: Saturday, March 09, 2002 10:05 PM Subject: Budokan 01 source > I'm sure Mid-Valley just captured it from the NHK TV HDTV Broadcast and > pressed cd's from that. > Nothing could be easier unless you had access to the master audio source! Well that is exactly what they did for the 1999 Tour Rehearsals for example, so it would not surprise me! After hearing the brilliant edit on the end of the Double Image 2 set from 1998, nothing they do will surprise me now . Upon first listen the Mid Valley release does appear to have been tweaked subtly - not that that show needed a lot of help audio-wise to begin with. Speaking of the Budokan 12/4 show - could one of our Japanese speaking friends tell us what Nathan says to the crowd at the end of the show? I'm guessing it's "I apologise for Eric playing 'Layla' twice, the set list generator got stuck, is there an engineer in the audience? Just be thankful it was not 'Wonderful Tonight'". Sorry it doesn't have a pretty button, haven't gotten around to that yet. I try to update these once a week as time allows. For the AOLers who do not receive the SD at all any more, perhaps someone could post this information on the Clapton bulletin board there and they can begin to participate again. You got my heart racing until I realized that the NEW CD you were referring to was Peacemaker, a CD which was issued over 5 years ago! Jerry's voice is weak and I was not very impressed by the CD, although EC did add some tasty chops. I've seen the CD in some used CD stores. Look for it there, I certainly wouldn't pay full retail for it.......T -- Well there's a piece of Maria in every song that I sing And the price of a memory is the memory of the sorrow it brings ..............AD End of slowhand Digest V02 Issue #49
