Ok here is the challenge.  You have been given the opportunity to produce
Eric's next CD.

What song's would you choose?
Who would you want to be in the band?
Guest stars?


- My first thoughts are: record in a small intimate location (a club, EC's
living room, my living room)
- Only accoustic guitars
- The first several songs would be Eric solo on any songs of his choice
- Then I would like to hear him do - some blues including "House of the
Rising Son", "St. James Infirmary",  "Evil Hearted Man", "Strange Fruit"
- Ok then we add a couple of new EC compositions
- And for guests on the next couple  - -
 	 Ooops this looks like it is going to be a 3 CD set.

SO, what are your thoughts

As Pat listed on recent digest I got lucky in the drawing for the Woking
show.

I will post to the digest how I will select the next group to get the weeds
after I recieve my copies from Pat (the other Pat).  So please DO NOT begin
to contact me yet.

Besides, my spouse reconfigured our computer and then went on a two week
solo vacation so my burning cannot take place yet.

Well, to be fair Duane took the lick from the smooth Albert King ballad "As
The Years Go Passing By" and simply sped it up.  And to be really fair, I'm
sure DeltaNick or Blue Lew could trace it way earlier than Albert's take on
it.

IMO, although the L&OALS album smokes, I think that the live dates at the
Fillmore, 10/23 and 10/24 showcase D&D at their peak.  Great, tight live
stuff that really burns.

The riff was actually a sped up version of Albert King's riff on "As the
year's go passing by"
Duane was very open about where he copped it from

Hi Cheryl and fellow Slowhanders. Since I did the art and wrote the setlists
and compiled the whole darn project!!
I'll do my best to answer your questions
My answers are in* below.

*Because I did it during March with the hopes of getting it out by Eric's
B-day. I did it to honor EC's B-day.
When I first announced it to the digest I said " I've compiled a box of all
the songs and in honor of Eric's Birthday I'm releasing copies on March
30th" I then made 10 sets and started sending them out around the world to
both people I knew would spread it and others as b&p who wanted it.When I
started doing the artwork I realized it had nothing to actually do with his
birthday so I called it the Farewell Tour box. Of course if he comes out of
retirement I'll gladly change it!*

 *There are some mistakes as I did the art and sent it to Mark right away.
Mark didn't get a chance to post and since then I studied the sources again
then re-did the setlist but didn't re-do the art yet......
Stormy Monday is from Buenos Aires 10-6*

*Source disc was unmarked and I couldn't remember where I got it. I now
think it's Copenhagen.
Whoever on the digest from Europe who sent this to me last year might be
able to help out.*

*Same as above. I know for sure it's from France but tourography site says
White Room  was not played in Bercy so it must be Toulose, France. Whoever
sent this to me please solve this mystery!!*

   Someone on the another EC list posted the info (re: EC being named the 
world's most over-rated guitarist in a poll) that the poll was conducted by 
Ibanez guitars, and that these are mostly used by shredders and heavy metal 
guitar players (is that part true?) who might not necessarily like EC in the 
first place.
   I'm noticing in that article that artists that made the "best" category 
did tend more toward "metal", where as on the "over-rated" list were people 
who were closer to "rock -n- roll" ... especially "Baby-Boomer" rock and 
roll, which, I've noticed, that at lest the young people now either love or 
really hate.  Has that been anyone else's experience?
