Terrifying - 15th Anniversary Special Edition

For the 15th Anniversary of the oft-booted Atlantic City 1989 concert, the Jointrip label celebrated with this special edition DVD which features remastered, better quality sound. As is typical with Jointrip, sound and picture quality are top notch, but inexplicably, in this case Jointrip elected to put the picture in a black-bordered box, and this makes absolutely no sense! Subtract 10 demerits for this silly, and distracting faux pas. Even more annoying, and apparently fearful that their mastering work would be pilfered by their competitors, the Jointrip crew subtitled the beginning of each song with the distracting caption "Compiled by Jointrip". It's always extremely amusing when bootleggers themselves become concerned that someone might steal their work without credit or payment - and in this case, subtract another 10 demerits for this petty attempt to prevent use of this video.



Taken together, the black bars surrounding the video picture and the captions are annoying and distracting enough that Geetarz prefers the remastered RSVP release since the RSVP team simply concentrates on quality and not on silly games.



We would also like to take this opportunity to point out that, after no fewer than EIGHT (8!) video releases of this performance on various DVDs in the past year or so, we are officially sick and tired of this show and are not interested in any reviewing further remasters, edits, releases, variants, versions, or promotions of this performance! We will only entertain the idea of watching more releases of this performance if Mick Jagger brings them by the house personally! We'll pop the popcorn ... (organic and low-sodium, Mick!)
